• Port of Antwerp-Bruges adds first electric tugboat: The Port of Antwerp-Bruges has acquired six new tugs, including the groundbreaking Volta 1, an electric tug capable of two operations per charge. Delivered by Damen Shipyards, these energy-efficient tugs comply with IMO Tier III standards, advancing the port’s sustainability goals. • Cadiz prepares for cruise ship electrification: Endesa has received key components for the OPS system at Puerto de Cádiz, marking a milestone in its transition to shore power for cruise ships. This project, funded partially by the EU’s NextGenerationEU program, will allow vessels to connect to a 16 MVA electrical supply, reducing emissions during port stays.
