What’s new this week?

Dear readers, first of all Happy New Year! We wish you a great 2026 full of happiness and electrifying opportunities! India has enacted a new ports act placing sustainability at the core of its maritime expansion, while Valencia commits €900 million to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035. In Rotterdam, the world's largest shore power project moves forward with ABB. On the water, vessel electrification is diversifying rapidly: from a US hybrid tugboat fleet and South Korea's plans for fully electric destroyers to CATL's landmark fleet pushing its total past 1,000 electric ships. The supporting ecosystem is also consolidating, with new partnerships like EVE Energy and Green Whale Technology aiming to lower costs and extend battery lifespans. Enjoy this edition!
