What’s new this week?
Dear readers, the Port of Cleveland is deploying a $94 million federal grant for solar, batteries, and its first electric tugs, while Perth plans new terminals for five electric ferries. Barcelona's shore power pilot has already slashed 2,300 tonnes of CO2, and Mediterranean cruise ports like Toulon and Ancona are making major OPS investments. Newbuilds are leading the charge, from Scandlines' 10 MWh "Baltic Whale" ferry and China's electric tugboat to Candela's "flying" ferries for Thailand and the world's first intercontinental electric fast ferries. This widespread activity, supported by contracts for firms like Cavotec and AtoB@C Shipping, underscores an irreversible industry shift towards a silent, emission-free future. Enjoy this edition!
