Ventspils electrifies ferry berth: Ventspils Freeport begins a €4 million project to electrify its main ferry berth. The 4,000 kW shore power connection will serve Stena Line Ro-Pax ferries. Funded largely by the EU, the facility must be completed by December 2029. READ MORE
Miri Port's shore power launch: Miri Port Authority commissions its first shore power facility in Sarawak, Malaysia. The unit, sponsored by TotalEnergies, allows vessels to shut down diesel generators. It aligns with Sarawak’s goal to cut port terminal emissions 25% by 2030. READ MORE

Svitzer plugs in Thames tugs: Svitzer opens a major shore-power facility for its tugs on the River Thames. The 550,000-kW station uses 100% renewable energy, cutting 280,000 kg of CO2 annually. It represents one of the UK's largest non-subsidised shore power installations. READ MORE
Havila PSV charter extended: Equinor extends the charter for Havila Shipping’s PSV Havila Foresight to 2027. The 2008-built vessel was upgraded with battery packs and shore power in 2018. The extension includes a further one-year option, potentially lasting to early 2028. READ MORE
Electric Workboat Volta delivered: Martens en Van Oord takes delivery of the fully electric workboat Volta. Powered by a 2,200kWh battery, it reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 50 percent. The 33.65-meter vessel will perform dredging and maintenance on Dutch inland waters. It can also function as a floating power bank for other electric equipment. READ MORE
ABB to power Washington Ferries: Washington State Ferries selects ABB to power its first hybrid-electric newbuilds. ABB will supply integrated systems, including the largest ship batteries in the US at 13.2 MWh. The vessels will enable zero-emission operations on short routes and in port. This order initiates a plan for up to 16 hybrid-electric ferries by 2040. READ MORE
UK's first electric CTV retrofit: Tidal Transit unveils the e-Ginny, a diesel-to-electric crew transfer vessel retrofit. The conversion promises to eliminate emissions from daily offshore wind operations. The company joined ZESTAs to advance zero-emission technology for offshore vessels. READ MORE
Moscow's New e-Shipyard opens: A new shipyard dedicated to electric vessel construction opens in Moscow. The facility will produce the 56-passenger Moskva 1.0 electric vessels for river transit. Spanning 23,000 square meters, it marks the city's first new shipyard in decades. READ MORE

BOS Power for Norwegian e-Ferry: BOS Power secures a contract to power a new 55-meter electric catamaran ferry. The company will act as system integrator for the full battery-electric propulsion system. The ferry for Gulen Skyss is scheduled to enter service in November 2027. READ MORE
